Magazine Cover Roundup
Our thoughts on some of the most notable covers from November/December 2024
The holidays are creeping in and so are fur coats, McQueen knitwear, smokey eyes, and Chanel tweed. Maybe it’s the cold, but dare I say I feel a shiver of change in the air of fashion? Anna Wintour might be in the passenger seat but fashion is still in full-throttle…
US Vogue - Kaia Gerber
Liam: Vogue US’s first-ever issue with a guest editor, Marc Jacobs, did not disappoint! The art direction in this shoot is to die for—such vision! It’s playful yet dramatic, and these colours omggg
Gillian: I love when fashion does fashion, y’know? I think what makes this so satisfying and exciting is the blend of fresh and iconic. Having Jacobs lead a very visually lively issue mixed with the heart of 90’s classic photographer, Steven Meisel is the ultimate creative collab that Vogue needed.
British Vogue - SZA

Gillian: This cover led me to discover photographer, Nadine Ijewere’s work and I hope Chioma Nnadi continues to use her for covers. She seems to be exactly the direction Nnadi is gearing British Vogue towards, and I like it!
Liam: I love this hair and cute knit ensemble. She looks so cozy!
Vogue Italia - Lana Del Rey
Liam: GORGEOUS! STUNNING! VENEERS!
Gillian: Fashion has come early for Christmas and his name is Steven Meisel. This is that Linda Evangalista cover, but make it Lana with new teeth instead of a face-lift.
Harper’s Bazaar Netherlands - Gigi Mae Ringel
Liam: I love the posing and composition in this shot, and the greyish-blue contrasts beautifully with the pink. You already know Gillian is gonna mention the big hat…
Gillian: I’ve never been a big Chanel girl, but I adore that this cover is doing what a magazine cover is supposed to do. This isn’t about what celebrity is on the cover but the clothes, the styling, the modelling, the fashun. The US covers have made it so that they have to put a big name on the cover, month after month, the little guys don’t have to do this and I think that’s what makes them my fav. (and I loooove a big floppy hat!)
Vogue Adria - Lepa Brena
Liam: I had no idea Vogue Adria existed, and I don’t know Ms. Brena, but I’m living for this shot! The composition is stunning—she’s serving with that pose on the car, and the contrast of the dark sky against the red text is so sexy and elegant. Obsessed!
Gillian: Go watch @ideservecouture‘s take on the cover. The team clearly put a lot of character into this one — a moment for the Balkans.
DEFINED - Lashana Lynch
Liam: OBSESSED! I know I keep saying it, but these colours are everything! The posing, the styling—it's all so sharp, and I'm in love! The makeup is giving me It's Not Right but It's Okay.
Gillian: Yes…this is my nail inspo for the season.
Vogue Portugal - Twiggy
Gillian: I felt this issue went really under the radar! Twiggy was one of five covers honoured in Portugal’s The Icons Issue, and I think they captured the style, boldness, and charm that Twiggy continues to have.
Liam: ALWAYS love a crystal headpiece.
